Your basic account statistics are public and can be previewed by other users, unless you disable this option in the User Profile > Account > Make my statistics private.
To view other person's statistics while using on-site chat, you can simply click on their username and preview their profile, unless they chose to have it hidden.
The data you can see includes:
username
rank
joining date
level progress
wagering details
total bets
